THE VERIZON GRIDIRON CHALLENGE PROMOTION
OFFICIAL RULES

VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. The Verizon Gridiron Challenge Promotion (the “Promotion”) begins on or about August 17, 2009 at 12:00:01 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and is scheduled to end on January 3, 2010 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET ("Promotion Period"). The Promotion consists of 20 separate Weekly Sweepstakes entry periods and 20 Weekly Sweepstakes Drawings, each a “Weekly Sweepstakes,” a “Sweepstakes,” or a “Weekly Sweepstakes Period.” Each Sweepstakes Period begins daily at 12:00:01 a.m. on Mondays and ends at 11:59:59 pm the following Sunday throughout the Promotion Period.

Who may enter: The Promotion is open to legal residents of the U.S. or the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or the age of majority in the participant’s state of residence, whichever is greater at the time of entry. Employees, officers, and directors (and members of the immediate families or households of each) of Verizon Corporate Services Group Inc. (“Sponsor”), its affiliated companies, subsidiaries, distributors, printers and advertising and promotion agencies, and any and all other companies associated with this Promotion (collectively, the “Promotion Entities”), are not eligible to participate.

How to enter: There are two methods of entry. (1) Mobile Phone Method: During each Sweepstakes Period, use your mobile phone to text GOPATS to 51500, follow the prompts and submit answers to the three (3) trivia questions via response text message. You will receive up to three (3) sets of trivia questions during each Weekly Sweepstakes Period. Each time you respond with your answers you will receive one entry into that Weekly Sweepstakes. All three (3) questions in each set must be answered but answers need not be correct. Mobile Phone entries must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. ET on Sunday during each Weekly Sweepstakes Period. Standard text messaging rates may apply to sent and received transmissions. Text messaging-capable mobile phones are necessary to participate. (2) Online Method: During each Weekly Sweepstakes Period visit http://www.patriots.com/VerizonVXP (the “Website”) and accurately complete the information requested in the online Entry Form (“Entry Form”) to register. Visit the Website on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays during each Weekly Sweepstakes Period and complete the answers to each of the three (3) sets of trivia questions. Each time you submit your answers online you will receive one entry into that Weekly Sweepstakes. All three (3) questions in each set must be answered but answers need not be correct. Limit three (3) entries per person per Weekly Sweepstakes Period regardless of method of entry. Entries are valid for the Weekly Sweepstakes Period for which they are received only and do not carry over to subsequent Weekly Sweepstakes Periods. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Winning: Following the conclusion of each Weekly Sweepstakes Period, independent judges (“Judges”) will select potential winners for that Weekly Sweepstakes in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the Weekly Sweepstakes Period. Sponsor will attempt to notify potential winners via text message, phone call, or e-mail approximately three (3) days following each drawing at approximately 10:00 a.m. ET. If the potential winner cannot be reached after reasonable efforts have been made, if he/she is found to be ineligible, or if he/she cannot or does not comply with these Official Rules, such person will be disqualified and an alternate potential winner may be selected via random drawing (if time permits prior to the fulfillment date of the prize in question). Judges' decisions are final and binding on all participants. The potential winners must meet all eligibility requirements set forth in these rules to qualify for a prize. Limit (1) one prize per person.

Odds: Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received for each Weekly Sweepstakes Period.

Claiming prizes: Winners and prize claims are subject to verification by Sponsor. If you are a potential winner, you will receive a winning notification message via text, phone call or email from the Sponsor with details about how to receive your prize. Potential winners may be required to complete and submit an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release, as determined by Sponsor, unless prohibited by law. If an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release are required by Sponsor, potential winners will be notified via overnight mail with instructions on how to complete and return the documents. Documents must be signed and notarized, and must be returned within five (5) business days of receipt or prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner via random drawing (Tennessee residents need not sign publicity releases). Winners’ guests or travel companions must also sign a liability/publicity release (in the event a guest or travel companion is a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, his/her parent or legal guardian must sign the release and the minor guest must be accompanied by his/her parent or legal guardian at all times). If you are the winner of any prize that does not require the completion of an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release, as determined by Sponsor, your prize will be mailed to you within approximately three (3) weeks. Sponsor is not responsible for any loss, delay, or damage during shipping. Sponsor will attempt to notify potential winners using the information submitted on his/her online registration form or Mobile entry. If prize notification or prize is returned as undeliverable, if winner cannot be contacted and/or does not properly claim prize, if a winner is deemed ineligible for any reason or if a winner declines prize offered, prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner via random drawing, time permitting. Properly claimed prizes will be awarded, provided a sufficient number of entries are received, but in no event will more than the stated number of prizes be awarded. Acceptance of the prize also constitutes permission to use winner’s name, biographical information, voice and/or likeness for Sponsor’s promotional and/or advertising purposes without notice or further compensation, unless legally prohibited.
